As visible in the additional images, there is considerable variety in the condition of both the laid down albumen paper prints and the mount boards. The leather bound case is in very good condition considering its age. 

The album is good condition with minor faults, mainly associated with the spine and hinging where there appears to be a little bit of colour re-touching to the blue leather. The marbled end papers are in good condition. The blank end papers and most leaves show evidence of foxing or tone spots to varying degrees - some with almost no spotting and some where it is quite extensive. Fortunately, the images are largely unaffected by the tone spotting and are mostly in very good condition.

This has not been electrified. The candle/burner holder is still present.

There are some small scratches or losses at left (between 7 o'clock and 9 o'clock) which appear to be from a previous mount.

There is some evidence of overpainting or repair, a few cracks but no major faults visible. In our opinion, the work appears to be late 18th or early 19th century and the frame appears to be contemporaneous. We are unable to comment on where or by whom the work was painted.

The painting is in excellent condition with rich colour. There are no defects or issues to note. It is housed in the original frame constructed for display in New Zealand House, London and is in generally good condition with some minor faults.

Overall, good condition; some very light foxing visible in the sky at upper right but otherwise, signs of deterioration, repairs or overpainting. Window mounted in a modern frame which is in good order.
