Recovered with present upholstery in early 80’s, frame in original condition with no repairs or restorations. Some possible later over polish where areas may have been worn. Good overall colour and patination. Numerous scuffs and knocks as to be expected with age. Later replaced brass castors.

We would estimate this to be 1870-1880. Drawers are running smoothly as runners have been replaced. One escutcheon missing from the first long drawer. Locks missing from both short drawer and bottom long drawer. Scuffs, scratches, and knocks as to be expected with age. Original finish showing evidence of sun bleaching this is highlighting the French chalk grain filler within the grain. Original condition, molding repair to the back right hand corner top and right-hand corner front. Minor shrinkage cracks to the applied cross grain cushion molding. The vendor has informed us this was acquired from the Australian Club of which he is a member when the club deaccessioned some surplus furniture.

Numerous bumps, marks and scuffs and discolourations, in particular to the upright which have darkened very attractively with age. Very nice colour and patination throughout, a very nice example. 

No evidence of repairs or restorations. Scuffs, wear and knocks as to be expected with age. Single plank top with two shrinkage cracks which appear to have been made structurally sound. The whole piece with a revived finish. Lower ring turning to the legs with considerable losses and wear. Presents well and a good useful size.

Good original condition and finish with scuffs, scratches, and knocks as to be expected with age. Leather writing surface a later replacement. All brass hardware, locks and castors are original. Would respond well to a wax, a very lovely piece.
