Romantic vignettes are hand-coloured lithographs. Case in good honest condition, areas of decoration lightly rubbed and worn as expected with age. Good overall patination. Antique cast iron weights are replacement, but antique. Running and keeping time. Movement seat board is period but with some additional packers. Movement, dial, and hands are all genuine to each other. This clock movement and case has been sympathetically and professionally overhauled and retailed through a leading clock dealer here in Melbourne about Twenty years ago. A very good example. Please note we do not guarantee the on-going working condition on any watch/clock sold at auction.

The movement and case of the same period but associated (a marriage). 20th century brass case weights. Antique mercury style pendulum cradle, later incorrect wooden pendulum rod the inside lower section of the door surrounds has been cut out for the drop of the weights. Later replacement clock hands. Movement appears to have taken a fall, and the dial feet rivets visibly separated in the dial front. Movement has been overhauled but not professionally. Running currently but need professional adjustment. The back edge of the hood has had additional pieces added to it to extend its depth to house the current movement and dial. A handsome case. A restorer’s piece. Please note we do not guarantee the on-going working condition on any watch/clock sold at auction.

Original condition, no evidence of repairs or restoration. The gilded case is dirty and discoloured, with areas of light rubbing. Would respond very well to a professional clean as would the silvered dial. The figural mount loose but still in place. Movement original silk suspension with correct pendulum, back plate stamped ‘Pons’. A good example of it type that would respond well to sympathetic restoration. Please note we do not guarantee the on-going working condition on any watch/clock sold at auction.
