Makers mark appears to be that of John Delmestre, London, reg 1755. Numerous dents to the body, smaller dents to the cap. Discolouration where the body meets the cast foot, this is also evident to the inside base of the foot, the foot possibly resoldered and is heat discolouration. Owners initials to the inside of the foot. Small hole in the body where the bottom blaster meets the turned decoration in the middle of the shaker. An early nice example but with condition issues.

Some surface wear visible throughout (to be expected). A couple of minor pin head sized dents to the tray. Sugar basin appears to have been dropped at some stage as there is a kink to the base of the piece, however this does not appear to visually affect the piece when displayed. Sugar tong has a slight kink and crease to the neck of one end and would benefit from a delicate restoration. All ivory components are complete and in very good condition, however all ivory displaying shrinkage cracks as is always the case with piece of this age. These should be clearly visible on the images online. Beautiful patination throughout, in our opinion a very good example.

Three good honest examples.
