Note: Top rail, bottom shelf replaced and inside seat support professionally replaced, original horsehair and seat springs still present. (Unfinished restoration). 95cm high. Condition ReportStructural restoration and replacement of missing parts appear to have been done by a professional cabinet maker, these have never been coloured or polish exposing the raw wood. The chair finish is not original and later, however structurally sound. Upholstery spring, horsehair, and drop in circular seat appear to be original and period. The back rest upholstery board is a later ply replacement. A rare and important chair which would respond well to professional yet sympathetic restoration. This has come from a Melbourne private collection and is obviously an unfinished project. This was bought privately by the vendor at auction about 30 years ago.
