As photographed, the gilded finish appears to be rubbed back in numerous places and also appears to have had later coats of lacquer of shellack applied, giving it a rather rich and deep patination. The wooden base appears to be a later addition with losses to the plinth on one side (evident in online photograph). Possible damage and restoration to one of the points of hat. The most significant damage appears to be the loss of three fingers on one hand. There is some possible loss and dents to the edge of the robes, in particular at the back and some cracking and crazing to the finish, also visible on the back. Still presents very well.

All porcelain elements appear to be complete and in overall good condition. We note some rubbing to the extremities/edges as to be expected with age. Pewter tray also in good condition, would benefit from a clean.

A few minor impact marks, but no damage or loss of any significance. Overall very good condition.

Porcelain trays in original condition, showring no evidence of repair or restoration. Areas of rubbing to the gilt edges as to be expected with age. The rosewood case sun bleached to two sides with shrinkage separation to the mitre joins. Small loss to top right corner of etched and bevelled glass top. Handsome example which would respond well to a sympathetic clean and restoration.

Bowls and stands in good condition. Case in good condition but showing signs of wear and age to the exterior as visible. Private collection, Melbourne. Unfortunately, no other provenance available. In our opinion we believe these to be lower grade white jade, however we are unsure, as we are not experts in this field.

Appears to have possible old damage/crack running between the two figures that opens when flexed. This may have been refinished. Fair condition only.

Some losses and damage evident.

Some minor surface wear to the lacquer as to be expected. Decorative metal ware and hinges slighting lifting in places which is often the case but appear to be complete. Good original condition with overall scuffs and marks. All figures appear to be original carved wood with gesso and polychrome finish. We note fixing for the hinges possibly replaced in some instances and would benefit from some resecuring.

Fine original condition with no evidence of repairs or restoration. Gilding intact. Vignette scenes in nice order. Minor crazing to the background as to be expected. Minimal wear to the gilt stripe edges to the top and foot. A particularly fine example.

Good original condition with no evidence of repairs or restoration. Very minor nibble to the spout. Minor loss and rubbing to the gilt extremities. Crazed throughout as to be expected with age. Signed to the base.

Associated stand. Crazing to the glaze as to be expected. Shelf wear to the feet. No evidence of repairs or restoration. Minor rubbing to some of the gilt decoration. Signed to the base.

Very good, original condition. No evidence of major damage, repairs or restoration. Minor surface scuffs as to be expected with age. Would benefit from a wipe and clean. Appear to be unsigned. Remnants of paper label to base (illegible). Minor rubbing to the base copper ring.

Original condition with no evidence of repairs or restoration. Rubbing and oxidisation to the gilt rim edge at the top and at the foot (body of the piece). Several hairline cracks to the reverse of the vase, this appears to be factory/expansion contraction of the body over time (not impact damage). All enamel intact.

Original condition with no evidence of repair or restoration. Minor rubbing to the silvered collar and foot. Minor surface scuffs and scratches due to age. Some sticky residue, would benefit from a clean. Otherwise, good condition. A handsome pair.

Elm. Fine original condition. No damage, restoration or losses. Slightly dusty, would respond well to a wax. A nice group.

Cigarette holder with fleabite chip loss to end and possible burn mark to mouth piece. Netsuke missing one hand. Okimono would originally have been holding some kind of implement (now lost). Fair condition only overall hence the low estimate.

No repairs or restoration visible. Rubbing to the patinated surface on extremities.

As is clearly visible in the photograph, there is some kind of scuffing/marking/deterioration to the exterior of the bowl area. Otherwise, complete and with no chips or cracks.

One of the larger examples with small chip to rim otherwise appears to be in good condition. 

Chip to rim of one of the white examples, the other white is in good condition. One blue example with some scuffs but otherwise in good condition, stopper broken and repaired (poorly) to the other blue example.
