Gan Sheng (active circa 1895-1930) operated in Hong Kong and is known for his discerning eye for style and quality. He skilfully blended Chinese decorative motifs with neoclassical Western forms. Works bearing his marks are scarce. Condition ReportGood original condition with no evidence of repairs or restoration. Dragon decoration in good order, mild rubbing to the dragon scales as to be expected with age. Minor scuffs and scratches overall as to be expected, would benefit from a light clean as it has some water spots and tarnishing to the foot. Nicely marked to the base and foot rim.
