This is part of the Hayden Vesty collections, his collection is one of the finest in the country. Leather and brass mounted scabbard to the bayonet a professional replacement. Bayonet in good condition showing signs of old corrosion and discolouration now professionally treated. Socket fits well to the rifle. Ramrod appears to be original steel and has the same colour/patination to the rest of the gun and fit well within its brass fittings. Barrel nicely marked with even patination, showing signs of surface discoluoration and corrosion, but treated. Fittings and screws appear to be original. One replaced screw to the front retaining loop. Sight/lug for bayonet present and appears original. Brass fittings appear original with uniform colour and patination. Stock has scuffs, scratches, and knocks as expected with age and nicely patinated. Later retaining pins affixing the barrel to the timber stock running both sides. Butt and plate with original screws and appears to be original. Striking plate and spring strong and operational. Trigger, lock and hammer original and in operative condition.
