There does appear to be some sort of scar right across the image but we are unsure if this is original to the work or if it is later loss. The line at the top of the painting does appear to be a possible scuff. We do note that the framing is all original with affixed label on the back (suggesting that it has never been removed from the frame). The work is also behind glass adding to the mystery. Otherwise, there are no other defects of note.

Images in very good condition, colours bright and strong. A beautiful example of the artists work. Frame appears to be original to the artwork, we notice this is a little rough and shabby as to be expected with age. Note, the backing paper has been crudely affixed with modern tape regrettably.

Some foxing spots visible in the figures upper centre. Would possibly benefit from reframing as the paper and image has moved slightly and a little wavy in its current state otherwise in good condition.

Overall in lovely condition, the colours bright and are unfaded. Three tiny spots of foxing are visible in the clouds in the upper right quadrant; these are visible in the images online and are only mentioned for accuracy as they are almost invisible to the naked eye. Has not been inspected out of the frame.

As listed, this is a genuine Blackman. This is from the Estate of the late Martin Sachs who had a significant collection of Australian paintings, mostly purchased in the 1970's from Australian Galleries.
