The base, legs and apron in good order with sound brass and turtle shell inlay. The top has suffered as is often the case with several losses of inlay ,both brass and turtle shell. some of these areas have been filled. All mounts present and correct, slight warp to the leaves when folded. Discolouration to the green wool playing surface to the interior. A good example of its type. Would respond well to professional restoration.

The silk floral needlework in good condition, colours are bright. The rosewood frame and stand in good restored condition. This piece has been refinished.

We would estimate this to be made within the last 50 years. 

The front panels all open with ease. 
The compartments 20.5cm, 23cm, 25cm and 27cm high internally. this measurement allows space for the sliders to open and close with books inside. 
Please note; one glass panel is cracked. 

This is a period 18th century chair, circa 1770, the incised carving to the top rail is a later enhancement. Vintage castors have been fitted. Structurally sound. Wear to the finish. Deterioration and some damage to the leather upholstery. Old repairs and restorations as to be expected with age. 

One arm rest possibly replaced in the 19th century. A good colour match.
