Lot #670 PILGRIMS TOKEN, beautifully carved in timber with scene depicting the Incredulity (the Doubting) of Thomas, housed in a fitted timber case and further housed in an attractive antique pierced olive wood box. With a somewhat dubious handwritten manuscript note declaring "PILGRIMS CROSS reputed (?) to be a Relic of the TRUE CROSS........" and suggesting it was acquired in the 1730s by WILLIAM FINLAY (1712-1789). Unknown age but definitely antique. the cross 7cm high, the outer box 13.5cm wide.
