Lot 492A Chinese finely carved ivory statue of GUI-FEI YANG standing on lotus base, Qing Dynasty, 19th century. GUI-FEI YANG was the Imperial concubine and consort to Emperor Xuan-Zong (Tang Dynasty 713-756 C.E.). Know in Chinese folklore by several name including Yu-Huan Yang or her Daoist nun name Tai-Zhen. She is considered one of the four beauties in Chinese mythology. Signed on the base "Guang Fang" within a double square cartouche with two character mark. A/F. 21cm high
