Lot 1488GUSTAV BOEHM (OFFENBACH): figural native African girl in SOAP, with manufacturer's paper label on base, original box; figure 15cm high, early 1900s. Rare survivor. Gustav Boehm (1827-1900) established a small soap factory in Offenbach in 1855, rapidly expanding to become a leading German manufacturer of perfume & toiletries. His sons continued the business until it folded in 1929.
