Lot 305DAVID BARCLAY (active 1830s and 1840s), two Australian silver mustard spoons, circa 1830s. Barclay is regarded as the first silversmith in Van Diemens Land (Tasmania) and works by him are extremely scarce. 9.5cm and 10cm long. These spoon bear Hallmark 161 as per John Houstone's listing at p.315 "Early Australian Silver - The Houstone Collection" [2012].
