JASCHA HEIFETZ IN ISRAEL: A presentation photo album (41 images) given to Heifetz in gratitude for his 1950 visit to Israel and his performances in Safed, Jerusalem and Eilat, where he entertained the troops, often in very challenging circumstances, as depicted in the photographs. He is also shown with David Ben-Gurion in one image and Moshe Dayan in another.

Also, a 3-record set "Songs of the defenders of Israel" presented to Heifetz by the Israeli Consulate in Los Angeles; and, an original ticket from a later visit (May 1970) for a performance with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. (3 items).

Throughout his career Heifetz was sympathetic to the well-being of men and women in uniform, and whenever he could, accepted invitations to perform for them, sometimes in dangerous circumstances.
