1928 (Dec 20) Deception Island-Antarctica per Sir Hubert Wilkins & Carl Ben Eielson with Falklands 1d just tied by 'Wilkins Antarctic/Deception/Island/Expedition' cachet in green & 'PORT STANLEY/29OC/30/FALKLAND ISLANDS' cds, another strike of the cachet at U/L & signed by the pilot "CB Eielson"; subsequently carried on the 1931 Wilkins-Ellsworth Trans-Arctic Submarine Expedition & signed "Hubert Wilkins". The Antarctic flight proved that Graham Land was an archipelago & not a peninsula.
