1933 (May 29) England-Australia #310a intermediate cover carried from Brisbane to Sydney by Imperial Airways AW15 Atalanta 'Astrea' on route survey flight after arriving in Darwin on June 19, so endorsed on back and signed by commanding officer (Major) "HG Brackley" on face, franked with Airmail 3d green and KGV 2d red tied Sydney '28JE34' cancels on arrival and red boxed 'AIR SERVICE NOT AVAILABLE' cachet alongside, couple of minor aging marks, Cat $600. [The success of this flight led to QANTAS Empire Airways (formed in January 1934) and Imperial Airways inaugurating their joint England-Australia airmail service in December 1934]
