1932 (Jan 2) Germany-Australia #235/240a two intermediate covers carried by German aviators Bertram and Klausmann after arriving in Western Australia both flown from Sydney with 'BERTRAM ATLANTIS EXPEDITION' cachets and signed Hans Bertram on face, one endorsed 'Carried by courtesy of "Captain Hans Bertram" in the Junkers Monoplane "Atlantis" Around Australia Flight' with Brisbane '10NOV/1932' arrival cancel and 6d Postage Due affixed on back, the other with 'DARWIN NT/12DE21/AUSTRALIA' arrival cancel, Cat $1,100. [The 'Atlantis' became lost nearing the Australian coast, making a forced landing in the Kimberley region of WA on 15 May; the crew were near death when found by Aborigines almost six weeks later and the plane was not recovered until September]
