1928 (Nov 5) Australia-England #127a intermediate cover carried by pilot SJ Moir and mechanic HC Owen with photographer Captain Frank Hurley in a Ryan B1 monoplane on their attempted flight to England endorsed "Spirit of Australia/Karachi-London" posted on arrival with India KGV 2a purple and Great Britain KGV 1½d brown both tied London 'DEC15/1928' cancel, Cat $2,750. [The only cover known carried on this flight, which was abandoned after a crash near Athens, the aviators continuing by train and ship to London; their plane was a sister ship to Lindbergh's 'Spirit of St Louis']
