1917 (Nov 23) Adelaide-Gawler #17 Ford, The Universal Car cover (logo on back flap) flown by RG Carey in his 60hp Bleriot (ex Guillaux) on the first official airmail service in South Australia endorsed 'By aerial post in the Bleriot Aeroplane' with KGV ½d green (2) tied 'ADELAIDE/NO23/17/STH AUSTRALIA' datestamp, Cat $4,500. [only 10 covers were flown along with the 100 souvenir cards; signed R Graham Carey on face in ball-point pen; with RPSL certicate (1975) stating "...genuine but autographed at a much later date" and violet 'HN Eustis Guaranteed' handstamp on back along with Frommer 'TF' cachet; ex Eustis]
