Catalogue Note: Violet Bartlett was active in Sydney's eastern suburbs in the 1920's. A friend of anthropologist and sketcher Olive Pink, she was part of the vibrant Sydney art scene in the years between the wars. An accomplished artist her specialty was native birds of which the present work is a fine example. She is also recorded through her greeting cards to friends.
