INWARDS MAIL: 1862 cover from GB "Via Marseilles" with scarce franking of 1862-64 9d bistre SG 86 (Cat £875 on cover) tied by very fine 'LONDON-WC/ 11 /OC27/62 - W.C/11' duplex, equally fine 'DEFICIENT POSTAGE 3d/FINE 6d - 9d' h/s, superb Melbourne arrival b/s of DC13/62 in red, minor blemishes. The cover was taxed because it weighed more than ¼oz. Carried per "Vectis" from Marseilles, "Nubia" from Suez; & "Bombay" from Galle, arrived Melbourne 13/12/1862.
