On close inspection, there is an area of paint loss in the top left hand corner. This appears to be rubbing of some description. At some stage, someone has stabilised the area with some type of varnish for presentation. Would benefit from a sympathetic restoration. Otherwise in good condition throughout with some minor craquelure evident to the surface in places. Frame also in good original condition.

As photographed, this painting is showing significant signs of age including paint shrinkage and craquelure throughout. Frame is rubbed with losses to the extremities (visible in the photograph). Also note some flaking and loss to the gilt slip. Private collection currently, was previous purchased from Anne Schofield Jewelers in Sydney.
