    Structurally sound and solid in usable condition. Back rollerball castors replaced with a later riser block above. Front brass castors are period but possible replacements. Loss of veneer crossbanding to the lower chair rail above the left-hand front leg Refinished some time ago, now showing signs of age. With scuffs, scratches, and rubbing as to be expected. Areas of colour patchiness to various veneer sections throughout. An unusual use of native timbers, an elegant example. The upholstered seat frame appears to be Australian cedar, with the external display areas crossbanded in a thick Eucalypt/Redgum veneer. Legs, armrests and spoon back frame appear to be Eucalypt/Redgum which is also faced in a Eucalypt/Redgum veneer. Note loss one square inch veneer piece on the back of upper frame.

    The base and lyre support with original finish and patination and overall colour. The stings in the lyre support appear to be old replacement. Scuffs, scratches, dents, and rubbing throughout as to be expected. The checkerboard inlaid top with scuffs, scratches, and rubbing; and appears to be a revived original finish as this is the surface that has the most wear from use. A fine example of its type

    All brass hardware appears to be original. Small adjustment required on the catch as it is not locking in place. Genuine piece but completely restored and refinished, lacking age and patination but a signed and rare example.
