Australian silver circular vesta with 9ct gold applied monogram crest, together with two antique Queensland burra nut vestas, 19th/20th century, (3 items), the largest 5cm high. Condition ReportWilliam Drummond & Co. Australian silver circular vesta; Lid snaps tightly and is well aligned. Minor scuffs and scratches and showing signs of use. Small dimple dent at the 4 o’clock position around the engraved initials. Stricker slightly corroded as these are inset steel. Monogram fine and firm, detail slightly rubbed. No additional marks, a nice example. William Drummond & Co. Australian silver circular vesta; Smaller nut with crack running from lid to the top of the applied shield. Another small shrinkage crack to the reverse side from the upper hinge running 1/3 down. Nut still solid and secure as are the mounts. Hinge sturdy and secure, lids shuts neatly. A lovely example with good colour and patination. Inside lid stamped ‘FINCKH STG SILVER’; Larger Nut in good condition with fine patination. No shrinkage cracks or damage. Base striker firm and secure. Lid mount with scuffs and scratches as expected with age. Front mounting pin a later brass replacement. Hinge solid and secure, lid snap shut tightly. Lid engraved ‘C.H.H. FROM C.E.H. 1880’, inside of the lid stamped ‘T.T.J & SON’. Three very nice examples.
