As clearly visible in the images online, there is a crack through the handle. The lock is stamped ‘Lacey & Co’. Lacking ramrod and we note the loss of the rear of the trigger plate going down the underside of the handle, this is no longer present. We also note the lock is slightly loose and will pull out when encouraged. (reverse side screw is present but appear to have threaded)

A complete set of 28 of dominoes and they appear to be complete and in lovely condition with numerous marks and wear from use which is lovely to see and to be expected. The case appears original and has been made for the dominoes. Glass on case is damaged but appears to be original. The first twelve lots of this catalogue have all come from the three surviving sisters from the Bayly family which trace their history direct to Runnymede, we have no doubt of their provenance and origin. It is our opinion and the Bayly family’s opinion that these folk-art pieces are from Tasmania.

As photographed, all pieces are displaying attractive age, patination and tarnish. Spring a little tired in the larger clip but strong in the figural clip.

This group of military related items come from the Bayly family and extend over a period of time from the early 19th century to the early 20th century. The description of lot 1 sheds some light onto some of these objects, particularly the hat plate as Bayly was a member. All the items have come directly from the Bayly family. The buttons on the belt appear to be military in nature from various regiments, mostly from WWI

This is a group of predominantly Georgian cutlery belonging to Benjamin Bayly who according to the family came to Van Dieman’s land in 1832/33
